Honey production may seem simple, yet its result is a harmony for all senses. Just as a bee colony works together to create honey, we have built a platform that connects individuals, groups, and experts, enabling seamless and transparent hive rental and management.
Frontend: React.js, Swift, Kotlin Backend: Node.js, PostgreSQL Cloud: AWS, Google Cloud
BeeHousing aims to support honeybees, make hive ownership available to individuals and groups, and create a unique recreational and educational activity that fosters community engagement.
The challenge was to build a system that connects all participants – customers, administrators, and beekeepers. The platform needed to be intuitive, support real-time hive monitoring, facilitate communication, and maintain both entertainment and user-friendliness.
We developed a comprehensive system that allows individuals and groups to rent hives, monitor bee colonies online, and contribute to beekeeping support. The platform enables different levels of engagement – from donations to annual rentals with honey rewards, and even full investment in the project.
In our Qcast, we delve into the challenges of developing the BeeHousing platform and how we built a system that makes beekeeping simple and efficient for everyone.
